Start Date: Summer 2026 Term (June - August 2026, with potential for future terms)
Position Summary
Fleisher Art Memorial is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic teaching artist to lead Introduction to Machine Sewing and Foundations of Quilting for adult learners. This part-time role includes teaching beginner-level multi-week courses and occasional one-day workshops that introduce students to the fundamentals of sewing and quilt construction.
In Introduction to Machine Sewing, you will guide students through foundational machine operation, seam construction, seam finishes, zippers, hems, and fabric basics while supporting the completion of practical projects (such as tote bags or pouches).
In Foundations of Quilting, you will introduce students to core quilting techniques including rotary cutting, piecing, pressing, quilt top assembly, and basic quilting and binding methods.
We are especially interested in artists who enjoy making technical processes accessible, social, and confidence-building. Whether leading a 10-week course or a shorter workshop, you will play a key role in cultivating a welcoming, hands-on learning environment that encourages creativity and skill development.
Who You Are
